First Person on Scene (FPOS) Intermediate (Plus Extended Skills) Remote & Tactical Medicine. The Longmoor course is broken down into two parts, the first 3 days are FPOS which is approved by Edexcel, recognised by the SIA and is IHCD managed, the second two days are extended skills. Subjects covered are:
FPOS Intermediate - Scene Safety, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy. Spinal Immobilisation, Defibrillation, Trauma and Medical Emergencies.
Extended Skills - Cannualation, Fluid Therapy, Advanced Trauma - Chest, Abdominal, Head and Extremity (including Tourniquets and Quick Clot). Extremes of Temperatures including Hypothermia, Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke.
All graduates of the First Person On Scene (FPOS) course will gain qualifications from both Edexcel and the Institute of Health and Care Development (IHCD).
