The HSE strongly recommends that holders of a FAAW certificate take a refresher course every 12 months until full requalification is required after 3 years. The Medical Wing’s course runs over half a day and provides the client with the opportunity to keep their skills updated and to ask questions and advice from our Instructors. The syllabus includes:

• Managing Incidents
• Basic Life Support
• Control of Bleeding
• Examination of a Casualty
• Unconsciousness
• Treating shock
